Period antique French wrought iron window grille from the early 1800s. This piece features original mortise and tenon wood framing, cast and wrought hardware, and well-worn vestiges of paint. Peen and wrap-around joins -- no welds! The iron is well aged. This piece is very sturdy and heavy. Hand made during the French occupation of Northern Africa in the early 19th century.
The old blue paint brings the feel of that era into this day!
